Our Story

Decades of financial precision in East Africa.

Kisaka & Company has grown from a focused Ugandan practice into a regional reference for quality assurance and consultancy, without losing the discipline and relationships that defined our early years.

About Kisaka

Founded in 1999 with a commitment to technical rigour and independence, Kisaka & Company Certified Public Accountants began with one core belief:

“Clients deserve a partner who stands by them with quality, objectivity, and international best practice, so they can focus on building high-performance organisations.”

Today, we’re among the top 5 local audit firms in Uganda. Partners and managers bring decades of experience from Kisaka and global networks such as PwC, serving public institutions, NGOs, and enterprises across East Africa. Our work on not-for-profit financial reporting led to an international committee on reporting standards for the sector, in which our managing partner remains an active participant.

A lot has changed since 1999. One thing hasn’t: the discipline and relationships that defined our early years, and our obsession with audit quality grounded in objectivity, independence, ethics, and integrity.

Our Approach

What Powers Client Confidence

The Kisaka Quality System

Every engagement (audit, tax and legal advisory, investigations, accounting and management consultancy) enters one system of quality controls, delivered by our partners and a trusted network of associates. What leaves is confident compliance, confident decisions and confident growth. That system rests on four things at once: the people who do the work, the governance that keeps them objective and independent, the clients whose processes and industry we take time to understand, and the strategy that keeps the value we create durable.

The drawing is that system. Select a component to see what holds it up.

  • Confident compliance.
  • Confident decisions.
  • Confident growth.

One system, four supports

  • Runs through
  • Holds up
The engagement What it rests on Every engagement Service lines People Governance Client Strategy Quality controls One system Confident compliance Confident decisions Confident growth
  1. Every engagement Service lines Audit, tax and legal advisory, investigations, accounting and management consultancy. Whatever arrives, it enters the same system.
  2. People Professional competence Staff development Knowledge Training We sustain the capability of our workforce through continuous learning, knowledge management and development programmes.
  3. Governance Integrity Objectivity Independence Professional ethics Transparency Public interest High standards of governance, professional independence and stakeholder responsibility, acting in the public interest on every engagement.
  4. Client Reliability Responsiveness Assurance Empathy Customer focus As a local firm with internationally experienced staff, we understand Uganda’s environment and use that understanding to deliver responsive, quality service.
  5. Strategy Economic Environmental Social Long-term value Financial transparency Long-term economic, environmental and social considerations, held to global standards of financial transparency and integrity.
  6. Quality controls One system One system of controls, applied to every engagement, delivered by our partners and a trusted network of associates.
  7. Confident compliance Outcome The filing stands, the deadline holds, and the regulator’s question has an answer already in the file.
  8. Confident decisions Outcome The numbers taken into the board room mean what they say, so the decision rests on the evidence.
  9. Confident growth Outcome Value that outlasts the engagement, because the controls behind it were built to keep working.

Nine components Work enters on the left, runs through one set of quality controls, and leaves as confidence. Select a component to see what holds it up. Four supports · One system · Three outcomes

Who you get

The cost of one hire. The depth of a firm.

One internal finance hire costs roughly what an engagement with Kisaka does. The difference is who shows up.

The engagement as a system

Seven disciplines, one engagement

Review and accountability Specialist input Client brief The need Audit managers Ownership Audit supervisors Fieldwork Audit seniors Evidence Quality managers Review Partners Sign-off Tax advisors Compliance Advisoryconsultants What next
  1. Client brief The need Your question, your deadline, your board. One internal hire is this box and the next one, and that is where it stops.
  2. Audit managers Ownership Day-to-day ownership of the engagement.
  3. Audit supervisors Fieldwork Fieldwork planning and coordination.
  4. Audit seniors Evidence Testing, evidence and working papers.
  5. Quality managers Review Independent review before anything leaves.
  6. Partners Sign-off Sign-off and final accountability.
  7. Tax advisors Compliance Compliance exposure and structuring.
  8. Advisory consultants What next Findings turned into what to do next.

Eight positions One internal hire covers one of these boxes. Select a role to see what it owns.

Bring us the work that has to withstand review.

Since 1999, from Kampala, for East Africa.

If your report will be read by a regulator, a donor, a board or a committee, that is the work we are built for.
