Project Monitoring & Training

Independent monitoring of projects and programmes against plan, budget, and results, and training for the project teams who have to keep tracking that progress themselves.

Know where the project stands while there is still time to change it.

Kisaka & Company monitors projects for government units, NGOs, and implementing partners in Kampala and across Uganda. We check progress against the workplan, the budget, and the results framework, and report what we find while the project is still running. The work sits beside our assurance practice, so we know what a grant file has to show when it reaches the auditor.

Monitoring tells you where the project stands; training makes sure your team can keep tracking it after we leave. We train project officers, finance staff, and M&E staff on the indicators, records, and reports their funder expects. Independence is confirmed in writing if we also audit the project or keep its books.

At a glance

What you can expect when Kisaka & Company monitors a project or trains its team.

Progress you can see

Activities, spend, and results tracked against the plan while the project is live, not reconstructed at close-out when the file is already cold.

Evidence from the field

Monitoring visits check that the outputs in the report exist on the ground, with notes and records a funder or auditor can follow.

A team that tracks itself

Training leaves your staff able to collect the data, keep the records, and write the reports without outside help.

Project monitoring and training services

Illustrative scope — the exact services depend on the funder rules, your project unit, and independence. We confirm deliverables in an engagement letter before work begins.

Monitoring frameworks

Results frameworks, indicators, baselines, and data-collection tools set up at inception, so the project measures the same things the funder will ask about.

Training for project teams

M&E, records, and reporting training for project officers and finance staff, built on the project’s own indicators and templates.

How we run the engagement

A clear cycle keeps the project team and the funder looking at the same picture.

01

Read the project

We read the project document, the results framework, and the reporting calendar, and confirm independence against any audit or bookkeeping mandate.

02

Set the measures

We agree the indicators, data sources, and reporting formats with the project team, so everyone measures the same thing the same way.

03

Monitor & report

We visit, check progress and spend against plan, raise exceptions while they can still be corrected, and write up what we found.

04

Train & hand over

We train the team on the tools and leave a monitoring file that a funder, an auditor, or a successor team can pick up.
